Head of Spain's rail infrastructure resigns after Toledo crash

Luis Pedro Marco de la Peña, president of Adif responsible for Spain's railway infrastructure, resigned following the train disaster near Urdá in Toledo province, which killed 69 people. He submitted his resignation to new transport minister Carlos Cuerpo, who took office after Oscar Puente's departure. This is Spain's second fatal railway disaster this year — 46 people died near Adamuz in January.
