Bird flu devastates mink farm in Utah as experts sound alarm
According to ProPublica's investigation, bird flu has been destroying a mink herd on a Utah farm since August, with authorities doing almost nothing about it. Minks are considered an ideal environment for new, deadly flu strains to emerge, as they feed on waste from poultry farms and other animals. Columnist George Monbiot warns that such a farm could be the birthplace of the next pandemic, more dangerous than COVID-19.
