Russia demands Apple and Microsoft hand over user data to authorities

Russian regulator Roskomnadzor has added Apple and Microsoft to its official list of communication service providers, requiring both companies to store data on Russian users' communications for three years and provide it on request from security services. The requirement covers correspondence, voice and video recordings, and metadata on communication flow. Companies refusing to disclose data may be blocked in Russia.
