82nd anniversary of "Erntefest": tribute to 42,000 victims at Majdanek
A commemoration ceremony was held at the State Museum of Majdanek in Lublin honouring victims of the "Erntefest" action on 3 November 1943. The Germans shot 42,000 Jewish women, men and children at the Majdanek camp and labour camps in Trawniki and Poniatowa. It was the largest single execution in the history of German concentration camps. The ceremony was attended by government representatives, young people and former prisoners, with prayers led by Rabbi Małgorzata Kordowicz and Father Wojciech Lemański.
