Renaissance frescoes hidden under plaster in Ciechanowice palace
Andrzej Meller bought a palace in Ciechanowice to convert it into a hotel. When workers removed the plaster, they discovered Renaissance paintings — a total of 1200 m² of polychrome murals from around 500 years ago, unique in all of Poland. Conservation work lasted 13 years; the palace, now open to visitors, has been called "Silesia's Wawel".
