FDA approves generic lenacapavir at $40 annually for developing countries

The US FDA conditionally approved production of a generic version of lenacapavir by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories — a breakthrough drug preventing HIV infection. The injection, administered once every six months, provides near-complete protection against the virus. Annual treatment cost will be $40 per person — comparable to daily tablets. The company plans to begin deliveries to low- and middle-income countries next month.
