Cyberattacks on supermarket refrigeration systems in Ireland, Sweden and Benelux

A series of cyberattacks on supermarket cooling systems has now hit Ireland (Supervalu), Sweden (Axfood, ICA), Belgium, Luxembourg and Estonia — hackers remotely raised freezer temperatures to 50°C, spoiling food supplies. The method is identical to an October 2026 attack that affected over 400 French stores. Similar issues are reportedly being investigated by the U.S. military at six American bases.
