Norway introduces tourist tax from 2027

Three Norwegian municipalities — Tromsø, part of the Lofoten archipelago and the Geirangerfjord area — have been granted permission to collect an additional fee from tourists for accommodation. The new tax will take effect in January 2027. Geirangerfjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
