Chinese researchers set data transfer speed record: 3.2 petabits per second

Chinese scientists transmitted data at 3.2 Pb/s through a 24-core fiber optic cable, setting a new world record for real-time transmission. The result surpasses the team's previous record of 2.5 Pb/s and equals downloading over 20,000 4K films in one second. The team used spatial division multiplexing technology and three wavelength bands (S+C+L).
