Strudze Palace: Renaissance frescoes with 28 emperors transformed its fate

Agnieszka and Krzysztof Wieczorkowie bought a palace in Strudze near Szczawna-Zdrój when the building faced collapse within six months. After years of painstaking restoration, Renaissance frescoes depicting a procession of 28 Roman emperors were discovered in the former ballroom — a world-scale unique find. The owners abandoned hotel plans and transformed the building into a "living museum".
