Hackers stole $6.3 billion from Binance: largest crypto heist in history
Hackers withdrew assets worth approximately $6.3 billion from Binance wallets in about 20 minutes — more than four times the previous record attack on Bybit. Analytical firms TRM Labs and Chainalysis attribute the attack with high probability to North Korean group TraderTraitor. Binance says it will cover all losses from its SAFU fund; withdrawals were halted and were to resume by Sunday morning at the latest. The entry point may have been an infected laptop belonging to an exchange DevOps engineer.
