Ryua, the subject of a BBC report, has rented an apartment in Japan for four years at a significant discount – paying 30 percent less than market rate. The reason is the presence of a ghost, which she has accepted. In Japan, so-called "haunted" properties (jikko bukken) are much cheaper – prices can be even half lower than standard properties.
