New waste bin rules: fines up to 5000 zloty for unsecured trash

The Ministry of Climate and Environment has prepared a draft amendment to the law on maintaining cleanliness and order in municipalities. Property owners will have to secure bins, bags and storage areas against access by wild animals — wild boar, foxes and others. Failure to comply risks a fine of 20 to 5000 zloty. The rules do not mandate one solution — tight-fitting lids, latches or fencing the waste storage area may suffice.
