Conviction upheld for animal cruelty to cat Kacperek in Kalisz
The Regional Court in Kalisz upheld a conviction against a woman who recorded her child spinning a cat in the air holding it by its hind legs and herself published the video online. The sentence is 6 months imprisonment suspended for 3 years, probation supervision and a 6-year ban on keeping animals. Only the fine to Help Animals association was reduced — from 4,000 to 1,000 zloty due to the defendant's financial situation. Cat Kacperek went to a new home and is receiving care.
