Polish Church punishes priest for abuse 37 years after assaulting five-year-old

A priest who sexually abused a five-year-old girl in 1982 avoided church consequences for decades — Cardinal Józef Glemp sent him to missions in Latin America. Church penalties were imposed only 37 years after the incident, when the Apostolic See lifted the statute of limitations in this case.
