Ebola kills nearly 5,000 people; expert warns of pandemic risk

An outbreak of Bundibugyo virus-caused ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo has claimed nearly 5,000 deaths among over 10,000 confirmed cases and has spread to other African countries. The head of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns that without urgent action, the disease could cross the continent and become a pandemic.
