Exploitation in European data centers: electric shock, illness, unpaid wages
Journalists from the Guardian and Investigate Europe have revealed that workers building data centers across Europe — including one for Google in Saint-Ghislain, Belgium — face hazardous working conditions: electrical work under voltage without protective clothing, occupational illness and unpaid wages. A 34-year-old electrician named Sandu recounted performing electrical installation tests without a protective suit because workers faced dismissal if they refused jobs. Workers live in fear of exposing their conditions.
