Biology student searching for shark teeth finds 4500-year-old arrowhead

Brooklyn Rolph, a biology student at Mary Baldwin University in Virginia, found a stone spear point about 15 cm long during a school field trip to Chesapeake Bay. The artifact dates to 4500–3000 years ago and belongs to the Lehigh/Koens-Crispin type, made by indigenous peoples of the eastern U.S. coast. Rolph was searching for shark teeth when she found it and immediately notified her instructors.
