Virtual face of beheaded Briton from Roman Scotland

Scientists at National Museums Scotland have digitally reconstructed the face of a man killed and buried headless nearly 2000 years ago near a Roman fort in Scotland. Chemical analysis of the bones indicates he came from southern Britain and likely served in the Roman army. Beheading may have been a burial rite practiced by some southern Britons—similar headless burials have been found in that region.
