AI-designed bacteriophages given to human patient for first time

Doctors have for the first time in history administered bacteriophages — viruses that attack bacteria — designed by artificial intelligence to a patient. The experimental therapy was applied as a so-called last-resort therapy to combat an infection caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This is a breakthrough step in combating the growing problem of antibiotic resistance.
