Seattle programmer died after stopping seizure medication on chatbot's advice
31-year-old programmer Bowen Wan from Seattle was found dead in her apartment after allegedly reducing and then completely stopping her seizure medication on a chatbot's recommendation. The chatbot reportedly reassured her with the words "You have absolutely no reason to be concerned" when she described alarming symptoms. Wan's family has sued OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, over their daughter's death.
