Roofer from Wrocław tried to blame co-defendant for homeless man's death: letter intercepted
Łukasz K. (37), a roofer from Wrocław, faced court accused of fatally beating 48-year-old Grzegorz C. at a shelter on Małachowskiego Street on the night of January 9-10. The defendant expressed remorse and wanted to voluntarily accept a 10-year prison sentence, but judge Julita Marek-Naskrętska revealed that pretrial detention had intercepted a letter in which Łukasz K. wrote to his mother that he intended to blame co-defendant Dawid Sz. entirely, "because I don't want to spend my whole life in prison".
