Tusk names Agnieszka Bartol finance minister, sidelining Hołownia
Donald Tusk announced on October 27 that Agnieszka Bartol—Poland's Permanent Representative to the EU and known to the prime minister from years of cooperation in European institutions—will become the new minister of funds and regional policy. She will replace Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. The decision came days after Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołownia threatened to withdraw his party from the coalition, and observers assess the appointment as deliberate humiliation of Hołownia and a warning to coalition partners.
