Lumina simulation recreated first 2 billion years of universe existence

Scientists from the Smithsonian Institution created one of the largest and most detailed simulations of the early universe called Lumina. It recreates the first 2 billion years after the Big Bang, showing how dark matter, gas and radiation interacted with each other, leading to the formation of the first stars, galaxies and black holes. Lumina provides unprecedented insight into cosmic origins.
