Iran executes more athletes: mountaineer and taekwondoka killed
Iran has executed another athlete — mountaineer Ali-Sina Mostafaveh, who scaled Mount Everest among other peaks and was arrested following anti-government protests. He was executed on 14 October. Earlier, in early October, taekwondoka Siavash Jamshidi Kheirabadi was hanged, and in May, MMA fighter Gholamreza Khani Shakaraba. Human rights organizations warn that at least six other Iranian athletes face the same fate.
