Record repression in Russia: 186 treason convictions in one quarter
From July to September, Russian courts issued 186 convictions in cases of treason, espionage and aid to the enemy — a record for the entire observation period of the Pervyj Otdel organization and the Parubets Analytics project. Convictions involve crimes under articles 275, 276, 275.1 and 276.1 of the Russian criminal code. Researchers describe this as a "trend of repressive wartime practice," pointing to systematic intensification of internal persecution in Russia.
