Majdanek prisoners' correspondence acquired by museum after auction called off

The documents were handed to Majdanek Museum director Tomasz Kranz during a ceremony on October 23, 2026 at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Most of the collection consists of postcards sent by KL Lublin inmates to their families in 1943–1944, containing thanks for parcels and health updates. The documents come from a cancelled auction announced by a German auction house.
