Winter conditions in Tatras: crampons and ice axes required, Kasprowy lift closed
Fresh snow covering ice lies in the higher reaches of the Tatras, and fog limits visibility. Tourists need crampons, ice axes and helmets — and must know how to use them. The cable car to Kasprowy Wierch is closed until 6 November for technical inspection. In case of problems, call TOPR: 601 100 300 or 985.
