Norway's sovereign wealth fund opposes Monte dei Paschi defense bid

The world's largest Norwegian sovereign wealth fund announced it will vote against plans to defend Italian bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena from a takeover by Intesa Sanpaolo. This makes it another major shareholder effectively backing the offer from Italy's biggest bank. The same Norwegian fund holds stakes in 75 companies listed on the Warsaw stock exchange.
