Sebastian M. case: experts propose alternative to road murder charge

Sebastian M. was sentenced to 8 years in prison for a crash on highway A1 in which a three-person family died — he was driving over 300 km/h. The government does not plan to introduce a road murder category into the criminal code. Prof. Mikołaj Małecki and other experts argue that prosecutors should more often use the existing provision on murder with conditional intent, which — like in Germany — would allow significantly harsher sentences.
