First SMR in Włocławek: minister names location for Polish small reactor
Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka named Włocławek as the first location for a small modular reactor (SMR) in Poland, stressing that Poland is emerging as a European leader in this technology. The first SMR will have a European design and be built on commercial terms, though the technology has not yet operated commercially worldwide. The minister said companies building data centers should secure their own energy sources rather than burden the national grid.
