Officials destroyed lynx habitat in Podkarpacie: 3% of national population

Breeding habitat for lynx—a species with only about 200 individuals in Poland—has been destroyed in Podkarpacie. The destroyed site was home to 3% of the national population. RDOŚ in Rzeszów issued permits for road construction and sandpit expansion, ignoring scientific evidence and appeals from conservationists. No protection zone was established despite documented animal presence.
