Traces of human activity from 350,000 years ago found in Portugal

Archaeologists at the Vale do Forno site in Portugal discovered over 200 stone artifacts dating from 300 to 350 thousand years ago. It is likely the oldest known site of prolonged human activity in this part of the Iberian Peninsula. The find provides new information about the range and timeline of settlement by early human ancestors in western Europe.
