Australian MP Helen Haines in serious but stable condition

Independent MP Helen Haines lost both legs following an alleged attack near her electoral office in north-eastern Victoria on Monday. Alfred Hospital in Melbourne said on Saturday her condition changed from critical to serious but stable. Haines is an independent parliamentarian representing a constituency in Victoria.
