Pentagon and Lockheed Martin plan 850 F-35 fighters in decade-long deal
The Pentagon and Lockheed Martin have signed a ten-year framework agreement providing for delivery of at least 850 F-35 fighter jets to U.S. armed forces and a minimum of $7 billion in investment from the company. The contract covers aircraft production, modernization packages, and fleet support. Its implementation requires, however, congressional approval and adequate funding.
