Ebola reaches Nigeria: Swiss diplomat's wife infected in Uganda
Nigeria has recorded its first case of ebola in over a decade — the infected woman was born in Uganda and is married to a Swiss diplomat in Abuja. She contracted the virus during travels with her husband in Uganda, and never visited the Democratic Republic of Congo, where an outbreak was detected in mid-May. The virus has now reached four African countries: DRC, Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria. Health authorities across the continent are trying to determine how the infection occurred, fearing further spread of the disease.
