Man charged after driving with 3+ promille and offering police 3,000 zloty bribe

On October 21, police in Wołomin stopped a 47-year-old driver weaving through traffic with 1.49 mg/l alcohol in his breath — over 3.1 promille. He offered officers 3,000 zloty to let him go. He faces charges of drunk driving and attempted bribery, and has been placed under police supervision. Drunk driving carries a sentence of up to 3 years; corruption carries additional penalties.
