U.S. permanent base in Poland to cost 15 billion zloty: four cities in contention

Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz revealed four potential locations for a permanent U.S. military base in Poland: Wrocław, Poznań, Bydgoszcz, and Szczecin — all west of the Vistula, as Washington expects. The Pentagon will receive deployment documents in November, with a final White House decision expected in December. The base for roughly 5,000 soldiers would require infrastructure for up to 25,000 people, including housing and schools, at an estimated cost of 15 billion zloty. Poland is also seeking participation in NATO's nuclear sharing program.
