US working on evacuation of diplomats from Persian Gulf countries
The US State Department is working on an order for staff and their families to leave diplomatic missions in Persian Gulf states, according to Reuters citing three American officials. The decision may affect all embassy personnel in Saudi Arabia. The step is a response to growing concerns following a series of attacks by Yemeni Houthis on Saudi Arabia and does not mean closing embassies or military intervention.
