UN: 96% of coral reefs threatened by 2075 due to climate warming

UN nature advisers warn that nearly all shallow-water coral reefs on Earth — including Australia's Great Barrier Reef — face complete ecosystem collapse by 2075. Already 24% of reefs in over 80 countries have critical threat status, and when accounting for climate warming effects, this figure rises to 96%. Scientists describe these figures as an "alarm signal".
