Snowy Hydro 2.0 cost balloons to 25 billion dollars, delayed to 2029

Australia's Snowy Hydro 2.0 energy project in Kosciuszko National Park now costs up to 25 billion Australian dollars – twelve times the original 2017 estimate of 2 billion dollars. The 2023 revision put costs at nearly 13 billion dollars with completion by end of 2028; the deadline has now been pushed to 2029. Tunnel work is 65 percent complete, according to the company.
