Illegal cigarette factory in Wołów county: 14 million units, 20 arrested

Officers of the CBŚP and police from Szamotuł shut down an illegal cigarette factory in rented warehouse halls in Wołów county. They seized over 14 million cigarettes, over 8.5 tonnes of tobacco leaf and a professional production line. Twenty people were detained and subsequently remanded in custody by the court. Estimated losses to the State Treasury from unpaid taxes would exceed 31 million zł.
