Burnham backs mandatory suicide prevention training for social workers
Andy Burnham, mayor of Manchester, supports introducing mandatory suicide prevention training for social workers following the tragic death of Matilda Davis. The 36-year-old carer of a disabled person took her own life minutes after meeting with social care representatives, feeling entirely abandoned by the system. Local MP Manuela Perteghella stressed that Davis "received almost no support".
