Firefighters warn: charging lithium batteries overnight may cause fires
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue published photos of a completely burned-out home in Ashby — the likely cause was an error while charging a lithium-ion battery. Firefighters urge people not to charge devices overnight or while away from home, to use only original chargers and place them on non-flammable surfaces. Batteries that are swollen, damaged or overheating should be removed immediately.
