UBS considers relocating headquarters from Switzerland and buying a US bank
According to Reuters, an internal UBS team is analyzing several strategic scenarios, including moving its headquarters out of Switzerland and acquiring a smaller bank in the United States. A takeover of UBS itself is also being considered, though no active talks are underway. Such planning has been ongoing for at least a year and a half in response to possible tightening of capital requirements after Credit Suisse's collapse. The bank officially states its wish to remain in Switzerland and calls reports of alternative scenarios speculation.
