Israel one week before elections: deep divisions, polls show no majority for either bloc

One week before elections Israel is deeply divided: the right warns of lost security, the opposition warns of isolation and deepening social divisions. No bloc has a polling majority, meaning post-election coalition negotiations will be crucial. Arab citizens of Israel — Palestinians — may play a key role. Both sides of the dispute agree, however, on policy toward Palestine.
