Polish Social Security raises widow's pension to 25 percent without new application

From January 1, 2027, the second benefit under the widow's pension will increase from 15 to 25 percent. The Social Security Administration will raise it automatically — people already receiving a widow's pension or those granted it by year-end do not need to submit a new application. The widow's pension allows combining a family pension after a deceased spouse with one's own retirement; the total cannot exceed three times the minimum pension, currently 5935.47 zloty per month.
