Drunk driver with lifetime ban detained in Wyszki district

A community officer in Wyszki district stopped a 34-year-old minibus driver who had over 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his blood — with the vehicle floor covered in empty beer cans. The man was driving despite a lifetime driving ban and was wanted by the Białystok court to serve one year in prison for earlier violation of the same ban. He now faces up to 5 years imprisonment, and with recidivism the penalty may increase by half. He was taken into custody where he will begin serving his previous sentence.
