Mystery of Lebanon's ancient stone block: 2000 years and still unsolved

In Baalbek, Lebanon, lies a stone block over 20 meters long and weighing as much as hundreds of elephants — one of the largest dressed stones in history. The ancient Romans never transported it to the nearby temple; it has rested in the quarry for roughly 2000 years. Why it was abandoned remains a mystery to this day.
