UK tightens rules on bus noise fines for local authorities

The British government is giving local authorities new powers to fine passengers for disrupting peace on buses. The rules, effective from the start of the year, still need approval from the transport minister. Enforcement will fall to authorized officers — transport security staff and police, not bus drivers.
